The Police Activities League would like to acknowledge the family of Dr. Charles L. Sifford for allowing PAL to recognize this great pioneer and humanitarian of the game golf. Prior to the passing of Dr. Sifford, who was the first African American Professional PGA Golf Tour player, he spoke of wanting to give back to future generations of youth the gift of golf. So it is with this spirit in mind that PAL recognizes him and his legacy by naming our Junior Golf Program after him.
