The Police Activities League football programs participate in the local/regional Pop Warner youth organization. The Pop Warner organization provides youth football programs in 42 states and several countries around the world, consisting of approximately 400,000 young people. Pop Warner is the largest youth football program in the United States.
The Police Activities League philosophy has been that athletics and scholastics go hand in hand. At every level, the Police Activities League seeks to develop well-rounded young men who learn not only the fundamentals of football, but also the importance of education in an atmosphere conductive to developing sound character while having a good time.
Football Registration Procedures for Youth Ages 7-14 Years old
Step One: Register at the Police Activities League. The PAL Center is open Monday – Friday (9:30am-6:30pm).
Step Two: Come to the PAL Center with your child, fill out the current year membership form and then pay the $50.00 PAL Membership Fee, as well as, the $15.00 football registration fee. All football players will be weighed on the official scale and picture taken for ID cards.
Step Three: A copy of your child’s Birth Certificate and End of Year Report Card must be provided to PAL Staff, regardless of whether the child participated in a previous year sport. Both documents are required for the Child to participate in Pop Warner Sports.
Step Four: Physicals: Your child must have a physical to participate in football. Pop Warner Physical Forms must be used. You can use your private physician, please pick up the forms at the PAL Center. A Free physicals day will be provided by PAL in July if possible.
Step Five: The first day of football practice will be the beginning of August. All paperwork must be completed and submitted to the PAL Staff. No child can practice without a physical.
All coaches must pass a strict criminal background check and provide references before they can volunteer as a coach.
